Social Networks in the Classroom

With a focus on twitter, social networking is more prominent in classrooms across Canada today. I was surprised to find so many principles and school administrators with twitter accounts that share personalized learning within their schools. I have begin to search for valuable resources through twitter of different techniques to personalize learning for my future classrooms. For example, I followed Joseph Childers on twitter who is a high school principle that uses his twitter to share resources that he has found interesting. I recently retweeted a post from his account regarding alternatives to homework (posted below). Another person I have followed is John Gaiptman . He is a superintendent of schools in New Westminster School District. He recently tweeted a link to an interesting article regarding the influence of music on learning and the possible benefits of listening. Find the article here if interested!
